Welcome to a brand new, fifth grade year! We are planning to make this year exciting, engaging, and fun for your students. We consider ourselves to be a blended/project based learning class. What does this mean? Blended learning is defined as a manner of learning that integrates technology with traditional classroom teaching. This is done through the use of technology to view, communicate, collaborate, create, and to use critical thinking. We will be using Google to create documents, take notes, make presentations, and to collaboarate/communicate through Google Hangouts. We will also be using Padlet, Edmodo, and Google Classroom as other forms of technology. Project based learning is exactly what it sounds like. It is using projects to further the learning process. Students will be creating projects during class and outside of class to learn and to assess their learning. Please check out the following videos to get a greater understanding of the process.
